North York
North York forms the central part of the northern half of the city of Toronto, anchoring the top of the “Golden Horseshoe” of Ontario. As of the 2006 Census, it has a population of 635,370. Once a separate city that was a bedroom community to Toronto, North York is now integrated into one large urban municipality. To commemorate receiving its city charter on St. Valentine’s day in 1979, the city’s corporate slogan is “The City with Heart”. The 401 runs across North York, which is home to many head offices, much manufacturing, and is a center of retail and cultural activity. North York is unique in that it has its own beautiful downtown core. North York has everything you need for a fantastic live/work location!
